Welcome to Vision Quest 2002!
Below you will find the real time journal entries from a trip I took in the Summer of 2002. At the time I had just quit my well paying job and sold my house. I had no idea what the future would bring.

In the tradition of Native American Vision Quests and Australian Walkabouts, I was on a journey of self-discovery trying to find direction in my life. The entries below were written on my laptop computer plugged into my car's cigarette lighter for power. I wrote many of the entries by flashlight in my tent or by the light of my campfire, so please excuse the typograhical and grammatical errors.

While traveling from place to place, I posted the journal entries for family and friends whenever I could find a free telephone jack to connect with the Internet. Everyone loved reading about my adventures in real time, but I think the entries stand up well even years later. I hope you enjoy these insights into my Vision Quest. --Joseph A. Mootz
