| Arriving at M's at 10:30pm, I was beat. I pretty much went right to bed after saying hello. The next day I got
Mark's computer set up, checked my mail and bought a rain poncho. I have an idea that I may try to do quite a bit
of riding on the coast so I wanted to be prepared. I also thought I might take a ride out to the old homestead
and C&L's and the way it had drizzled hard that morning, I thought I might need it. It just seemed cold all day, so I put off riding anywhere. Around 3:30pm I thought I would test out the route with a short ride towards the lake. I was at the lake in 15 minutes and took the picture above with Hobart mountain in the background. The ride was so smooth and flat compared to what I was used to in Tucson, I decided to press on. At the south side of the lake I was still unsure as to whether to head back on the east lake road or continue on. I continued on and by 4:45pm I found C&L and their helpers stacking 700 bales of hay at the end of their horse arena. Although they had automated the process a lot from the days I used to help during haying season, it still looked like a lot of work. Since C had to take the baler into town anyway and could take me and my bike back with him, I accepted the invitation to dinner. I sure had fun reminiscing about what it was like to live in that area when I was young. C&L have a great place and all the trees and plants were green and healthy along the ride out there. The next day I spent some time working on M's web page. I think I am close, just need some more info from M. M,M, K and I went to lunch at the local deli where I think I insulted their side salad selection. I had accepted an invitation to dinner at C&L's again and headed that way in my car in the early evening. I went for a short bike ride along the river with some of the kids and visited while waiting for C to return from baling in town. We had another nice dinner and I got to show my slides again. I don't think technology has changed the principles of vacation slide showing. I thnki one needs to organize and reduce the show to only slides with a point or risk losing the audience. I think everyone enjoyed it though. M and I have struggled with how we are going to pull off our trip to Ocean Shores for the weekend. I am anxious to get on with the next phase of my tripl, but I feel this needs to taken care of first. Everything always turns out better than I think it will anyway. By the way I did hear from my real estate agent, got the paperwork changed and a check was deposited in my account for the amount I expected. So, I guess that chapter is finished. |
